There are four main types of drive mechanisms used in punch manipulators: hydraulic drive, pneumatic drive, electrical drive and mechanical drive. Among them, hydraulic drive and pneumatic drive are the most used.

1, hydraulic drive hydraulic drive manipulator usually by the hydraulic motor (all kinds of oil cylinder, oil motor), servo valve, oil pump, oil tank and other components of the drive system, by the drive manipulator actuator to work. Usually it has a large snatch capacity (up to several hundred kilograms), which is characterized by compact structure, stable action, impact resistance, vibration resistance, and good explosion-proof, but hydraulic components require high manufacturing accuracy and sealing Performance, otherwise oil leakage will pollute the environment.
2. Air-driven drive system is usually composed of cylinder, air valve, air tank and air compressor. It is characterized by convenient air source, rapid action, simple structure, low cost and convenient maintenance. But it is difficult to control the speed, the air pressure can not be too high, so the snatch ability is low.
3. Electric drive type Electric drive is the most used driving mode of manipulator. It is characterized by convenient power supply, fast response, large driving force (joint-type weight has reached 400kg), convenient signal detection, transmission and processing, and can adopt a variety of flexible control schemes. The driving motor generally adopts stepper motor, and DC servo motor (AC) is the main driving mode.
Due to the high speed of the motor, a reduction mechanism (such as harmonic drive, RV cycloid drive, gear drive, spiral drive and multi-bar mechanism, etc.) is usually used. This manipulator has begun to use no deceleration mechanism of large torque, low speed motor for direct drive (DD), which can simplify the mechanism, but also improve the control accuracy.
4, mechanical drive type mechanical drive is only used for fixed action occasions. Cam linkage mechanism is generally used to achieve the prescribed action. It is characterized by reliable action, high working speed, low cost, but not easy to adjust.
